Microplastics as a potential risk for aquatic environment organisms – a review

چکیده
In the modern world, plastic has become a major commodity on global scale and is presented in all life aspects. The production of plastics increasing dramatically throughout world considered to be serious threat for aquatic environment. Scientists started raise questions as where disappeared debris had gone, material persistent synthetic polymer. disappearance suggests that microplastics are generated by fragmentation larger debris. They also enter environment from cosmetics, clothing, other industrial manufacturing. Microplastic particles spread aquatic, terrestrial, atmospheric environments due their small size ubiquity, showing high bioavailability. presence been demonstrated digestive tracts most organisms at various trophic levels. Evidence negative effects found relation fertility, mortality, oxidative stress, immune system or metabolic processes.

Microplastics as contaminants in the marine environment: a review.
Since the mass production of plastics began in the 1940s, microplastic contamination of the marine environment has been a growing problem. Here, a review of the literature has been conducted with the following objectives: (1) to summarise the properties, nomenclature and sources of microplastics; (2) to discuss the routes by which microplastics enter the marine environment; (3) to evaluate the ...
متن کاملThe physical impacts of microplastics on marine organisms: a review.
Plastic debris at the micro-, and potentially also the nano-scale, are widespread in the environment. Microplastics have accumulated in oceans and sediments worldwide in recent years, with maximum concentrations reaching 100 000 particles m(3). Due to their small size, microplastics may be ingested by low trophic fauna, with uncertain consequences for the health of the organism. This review foc...
متن کاملEmerging Pollutants in Aquatic Environment: Source, Effect, and Challenges in Biomonitoring and Bioremediation- A Review
Emerging contaminants are distributed in to the environment from various anthropogenic activities. These Emerging contaminants (ECs) are mainly composed of products, such as pharmaceuticals, personal care products (PCPs), surfactants, plasticizers, pesticides etc. The present conventional system of waste treatment are not designed to treat these contaminants. Complex structure of these pollutan...
